Dr. Holt was born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee. He earned his DVM from University of Tennessee – Knoxville. Following graduation, Dr. Holt began practicing large and small animal medicine with Animal House Veterinary Clinic in 1993. He became a practice owner and partner of Animal House Veterinary Clinic and Gateway Animal Care Group, PC in 1995. Dr. Holt is a member of the society of theriogenology, TVMA, and AVMA.

His interests are in equine, bovine, and small animal medicine and surgery. He and his wife Nicole have two children. In his spare time, Dr. Holt enjoys fishing, participating in church functions where he serves as an elder, and watching sports.
